Microsoft is rolling out a new and improved Outlook experience – New Outlook!

This update brings a fresh look and feel to your inbox, along with some exciting new features. However, it’s important to be aware of a few limitations before you dive in.
A Streamlined Interface
New Outlook boasts a modern design that makes it easier to navigate your email. You’ll enjoy features like:
- Pinning and Snoozing Emails: Keep important emails at the top of your inbox or schedule them to reappear later

- Adjustable Calendar Appointments: Resize calendar appointments to better visualize your schedule.
- Your Company Logo: You can personalise the look with your company logo

Important Considerations
While New Outlook offers a sleek interface and improved functionality, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Shared Mailboxes: Currently, you cannot add shared mailboxes to your favorites list. Shared mailboxes are now located within a folder in your main mailbox list.
- Importing ICS Calendar Appointments: New Outlook doesn’t currently support importing calendar appointments received as ICS files (commonly used for holiday bookings or meeting invites).
- Limited COM Add-in Support: This is a significant limitation for many users. COM add-ins, which extend Outlook’s functionality, are not fully supported in New Outlook. For more information on the current state of COM add-in support, please refer to the Microsoft documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365-apps/outlook/get-started/state-of-com-add-ins
Making the Switch
Microsoft will be migrating users to New Outlook automatically. If you’d like to try it out before the switch, you can enable the preview mode within your Outlook settings.
We recommend familiarising yourself with the new features and limitations of New Outlook before the automatic migration. This will ensure a smooth transition and help you determine if there are any workarounds necessary for your specific workflow.
We’ll continue to provide updates on New Outlook and its functionalities. In the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have any questions
